I'm getting a hair cut soon and I need to know how to explain what i want. I usually tell her layered side bangs but she never does it right. Is it her or am i explaining it wrong?

Try to find a picture of a style you like and take that in with you. If she keeps doing it wrong it might be worth finding a new hairdresser.

bring in a picture... or several pictures... you should have an in depth conversation about it to make sure she understands. it is very difficult to try and picture what someone is explaining to you. if she doesn't get it after the pictures and you explaining it... go to someone else

if in fact you are talking about that layered cameron diaz look? you should say you want a swoop! Depending on where you go to get your hair cut.....meaning great clips or super cuts might not know what that is.....try a real salon....or bring in a picture.....another star who has that similar look but in a longer style is eva longoria....other words say you want layers that fram your face you want it cut to a certain side either left or right side depending on how YOU part your hair and then you show her/him where you want that part.....be picky hunny its your hair...yes it grows back but what would you do in the mean time?

Maybe you can find a picture or a friend with the style that you are talking about. Then show it to her, and ask if she can do what it is you are asking for. She may have a better understanding seeing it visually. But if she still gets it wrong, then maybe you should find someone else who will have you looking the way you want, and further more....it is your money, and your head! good luck!

How about taking a picture of what you want. Layered side bangs doesn't sound too discriptive. Take in a picture from a magazine or something and show her. It really helps out the sylist to SEE what you're talking about.
