I need some advice as to how I should get my hair cut!

And a little shorter in length. Because I have a long face and a high forehead, I have always worn bangs, but they're kind of hard to keep up. I guess side bangs would work...

Your hair is really pretty as it is, but if you are looking for a change, I would get some more layers and side swept bangs.
I'd cut it short to about the jaw line and have the stylist thin out the ends to make it modern and stylish. I'd go with some darker colors, maybe some blond highlights, but definitely a dark base.

My friend had her hair cut soo short and afterwards had the feeling every time she goes to salon that she wants it even shorter!! i cant understand that!! Even the hairdresser wouldnt do it that short, then she has to go to another one!!

Get a stylist that will listen to you, and your mom should have nothing to do with your haircut unless you are a child. If that is the case, well, see what your stylist can do to make you both happy next time.
Nothing makes your hair grow faster, but you can make your hair healthy from the inside out with good nutrition. I think protein is good for your hair. That and the appropriate product for your hair type. Cost isn't always a factor of quality.
As for styles, I would go to another stylist and get a good haircut with the hair you have left, one that will grow out more the way you want it. Then go with styles that the new stylist recommends.
Putties are good for short hairstyles and are heavy duty conditioners as well. I have very thick hair and need a lot of hold. I don't know how cooperative your hair is so this may not be the best trick for you. At any rate, use a product that keeps your hair in place if it is stubborn. Or go with a style that is messy.
You can try twisting your hair, or something crazy like that for a completely new look, what I mean is (may not be using the right word) is similar to dreads where you chunk up your hair...except it is reversible. Other crazy options would be spiking and such. Use this time to be weird.
Get trims regularly even though you are growing your hair out. Damaged hair doesn't grow very well, and if there is too much damage, it will travel up the hair strand, then you need to cut even shorter to restore the health of your hair.

I feel for you. On Dec. 23 I went in to get a haircut for the holidays. I just wanted my layers cleaned up. As it turns out, Dec. 23 is a really bad time to get your haircut, because so many people are getting theirs done and the stylists are exhausted! For the past two years my hair has been the best it's eer been, but on Dec. 23 my cut was ruined (too short) because my hair guy was frazzled. I went someplace else and had them reestablish my layers. It looks okay, but I had to make all the layers a lot shorter to make it work. But at least the cut is a good base and will be what I want when it grows out.
Hair grows 6 to 10 inches per year, so it won't be TOO long a wait for you. It's hard to recommend a style without knowing your hair type. Good luck in finding a fix that suits you.
Try taking some multivitamins. I know when I was on prenatal vitamins my hair and nails grew a LOT faster!
When you have time, play with it and try different things you've seen in hair magazines or on the internet. You'll find something that will work... Pull the sides up in a barette. That's a simple thing that usually helps while your waiting.

Try taking prenatal vitamins and eating really healthy to get your hair growing a little quicker. You can get the vitamins over the counter at Wilmart or where ever for about $5. I would be SURE to tell your mom why you are taking prenatal vitamins though. That could be ugly.
Also, go to a quality salon %26amp; talk to the stylist before getting a cut. They'll usually do a consultaion at the nicer salons. You may find another cut will make the short length more acceptable until it grows back to the length you like. Maybe a little highlighting would give it a boost?

Personally I don't like this haircut... it looks flat, messy and like you rolled out of bed. It kinda looks like a razored long and some kinda mullet entwined with it...lol. But that's just me.Anything looks good on an oval shaped face... unfortunately, I don't think this would look good on any face shape. Angelina Jolie wouldn't be able to pull this off... and she would look great even bald. It's ugly!

Yeah I know what you mean. Layers round the face are a really good way of softening your facial features and adding some style. If you have long hair do think carefully about getting it cut, you don't want to do something you regret!

well it depends on how dry your hair is.cause that happens to me.what you should do is get your hair cut at least 1 a month to make sure your dead ends dont come back.you dont need a lot just a trim.and the lady who cut my hair told me to use a leave in conditioner[they sell it at the hair place]and ,its really been helpfull.=]
They were already there.....You probably didn't get enough cut...if you are hard on your hair. it will wear out faster...Hair is a fiber (kind of like silk) and it will respond to what you do to protect it or to damage it..
You can strengthen hair with protein (good protein) purology has a nano protein that is costly but is concentrated, so a little goes a long way, and it protects the hair really well.
it all depends. How well do you take care of your hair. You should be able to get by in 6 weeks. If you already see split ends, you didn't cut off enough. Get salon strength products, it really makes a different!

Try talking nicely to your parents and showing them pictures of the kind of haircut you want. If it's not too drastic of a change, I'm sure they'll see that and appreciate your respectful persistence and care about your hair.
How old are you? If you're at least 12 you should be making your own hair choices! Just explain to them that you would like to try out a new look, and if you don't like it afterward, it'll always grow back!

Well you could have layers put in...
either long layers that you could have angled round your face, or you could have shorter choppy layers.
Also, get a longish side fringe, I think that looks really cute and loads of people I know have got them.
For hair styles, straighten, curl or scrunch your hair for something different. Also, buy accessories like headbands, pretty grips and slides and stuff to dress up a ponytail if thats what you like doing.

It depends mostly on the shape of your head and also on the shape of your body. Just be brave and go with something different than the ones you've had before. Your hairstylist is the best person to help with that. If you're concerned about looking like a boy, well most girls I know who have short hair have been mistaken for boys at one time or another. Unfortunately some people judge based on their first glance and you can't change that. Enhancing your other feminine features (eyes, lips, ears, chest) will help. If you're really apprehensive, just come up with a few good comebacks for in case you ARE mistaken for a boy (if you're wearing a baggy top or if someone sees you from behind)! If it were me though, I wouldn't worry about it. If you think you look good that's REALLY all that matters!

It's kind of hard to describe a hair style. Why don't you look through few magazines and find style that way. I'd be much easier than trying to dictate to your stylist what you want done. Just find a picture to refer to.

you get split ends when your hair hasent been trimed in a wile. what I would suggest is takeing all of you hair and just grab the ends if it and try to make a strate cut that should cure your split ends.
i really recommend not doing anything until you see a qualified hairdresser!!

Pay $10 at Fantastic Sam's or Super Cuts before you cut your own hair. If you don't have $10 you could probably stand in front of a convenience store bumming for change and make $10 in an hour. Don't cut your own hair is my point.
Dont try to cut it. If you do, u may cut at an angle, which will cause your stylist to have to make u up a style to match the drama uve done or have to cut it even shorter to even it up. Put it in a scrunchie or clip and just wait!
I cut my own hair all the time.
Start out with sharp scissors, turn your head upside down and hold it in a pone tail (if you want layers) and cut as much as you want off. But have an idea in ypur head first want you want.
Then when you have your head straight part it in the middle and pull it to the sides and straighten up the ends you may have missed. It takes a bit of pratice and you may not get it the first time but you will get the hang of it!

go to hong kong cuz they really know how to do this well: get long layers that end in a point in the middle of your back. maybe you don't have to go all the way to hk, but go to a high-end salon where they know what's up. fantastic sams, great clips, cost cutters, yeah they can't tell what's up from down
My hair's the same...I just got it cut that looks really cute! Ask the stylist to cut it into a V shape at the ends (like, shorter on the outsides and coming to a low point in the middle - like an upside-down triangle) and to layer it from the ears down (or wherever you want the layers to start. It is SO pretty! Hope this helps! ;)

Dye it lighter. Get a deep side bang and a few darker layers over the light layers. But keep the length; It matches your face shape.

I'm planning on getting it something like that except an even length on both sides and it gradually gets longer from the back instead of it suddenly dropping at the front. If your hair is straight and at medium lenght, a cut with long layers, with the back in a "U" shape and bangs that are more or less below your eyes (wear them swept to the side, guys love the peekaboo effect), and some feathering around your face is the best choice. When you go to the stylist, tell her you part your hair in the middle (even if you don't); that way your hair will be an even length on both sides and you can part it any way you want. This style is the most versatile flattering to any hair type and texture.

Of course they will cut your hair. They should be experienced in all types of hair. I am sure there are black or mixed stylists also if you are more comfortable with that.

I just cut my hair last summer in Las Vegas into a short do. It was up to my jawline and layered and had a feel cute and punky look, the change I needed for starting college. Now, a year later, its grown all back and my hair stylists is a couple thousand miles away. I'm getting my hair cut soon and I want to find pictures of the hairstyle I want. I have blonde hair and its straight! I want it to be layered and be feathered around the face, but i want the feathering to start kinda up near my eyes and nose. I want BANGS!!! but not cut straight across and side bangs. The best way to find a good haircut is to look in the magazines at the beauty shop and find a picture in there of a cut you like on someone with your facial features. Then you will have the photo with you to show the beuatician.

I've had the same hair cut for quite some time now (going on 6 years). I've always kept it shoulder length, and as straight as possible without damaging it with a straightener. (It's naturally wavy at the ends.
I want something new. Nothing horribly drastic, but cute and fun. I don't want anything that looks too "old-lady-ish". I'm only 21. Short is ok, but not too short.

Ok so many of us have heard about people who get their hair cut but it hurts so bad they are in tears. Is their a scientific name for that "disorder" (for a lack of better words!!) ?
It is not the hair cut itself, it is the "pulling" done on the hair itself. Each hair on your head is put into a "follicle" that has a nerve and muscle attached to the root. That COULD cause pain, if the person who does the hair cutting is somewhat rough. A great many people have tender scalps and pulling on the hair causes discomfort. Actual PAIN is not really bad. Sometimes the brain reads it and senses the pain with much more intensity than is really there.

Your hair is dead cells as soon as it is visible above the skin. It's like cutting your finger nails.. It shouldn't hurt at all. However, it may be that the barber is pulling on the hair, and it's actually the scalp that is hurting. In that case, just tell them not to pull so hard. The only other thing I can think of is that it's a totally mental thing. Maybe it's like when a person has a limb amputated and can still "feel" it, even though it's gone. It's just the brain playing tricks on you. It's not actual pain, just percieved pain, and maybe some nerves randomly firing. But yeah, simply snipping a hair should not hurt at all.

I personally hate "emo haircuts" and I'm tired of hearing about them. But I've seen a lot of long, shaggy bangs on those brats - which should work well for covering up acne.
i don't see why not but it might not help clear it up depending on the cut because people who have hair on their faces a lot tend to have more acne because of the sweat and grease your hair gathers and them puts on your face.

I have the same issue, especially with clothes %26amp; hair. I have my hair dyed a chestnut brown, with a mix of blonde and caramel highlights, layered a little past my shoulders, the shortest layer starts where my nose is, these are angled layers.
u didnt say if u have long or short neck--long narrow or round face these things affect how u will look in new hair style --go 2 your hair stylist look at her style books and have discussion with her about them
may be a classic cut like just few inches shorter up to your shoulder and straight/ or depend on you face frame a shic layered hair... but you decide it.

I have naturally pin-straight hair too. Layers looks great with them. Flat, one-cut hair looks a bit boring, and almost too consistant and in place. A layered look creates a stylish feel.
I'd say go for it. And if you don't like it, layers (in my hair, at least) are SO EASY to grow out. I'm getting more layers cut this weekend, actually.

Flat hair (that is straight and not curly or frizzy at all) should look great with the layered look. You can make it look real edgy and punky too by using styling products.
Yes it would look nice if you cut your hair into layers. You can always add body to your hair with different shampoo's that are at your local drug stores, super markets and or where you purchase other hair care products. I'd go for it if I were you!

Ok, so heres the details. My hair is blonde, down to my shoulders. Its curly, like the s-shaped sort. I have layers from about my chin to my shoulders. How about taking a picture of what you want. Layered side bangs doesn't sound too discriptive. Take in a picture from a magazine or something and show her. It really helps out the sylist to SEE what you're talking about.

GEL!! gel is your friend till it grows out a bit more ...slick it behind your ears, change your bangs from one side to the other....your hair will grow pretty fast so not to worry. You can always start taking more vitamins to help it along such as "BIOTIN and ZINC" too....You can also use fun head-bands, barretts, glittery bobbi-pins etc...find some cool hats to play with....ejoy it....embrace the NEW YOU...have FUN! you're too young to bother getting all "EMO" on something like a bad haircut....
