Well, it really depends on what your face shape is, and your hair color as well, but focus mostly on face shape. Is it round, oval, square, or heart-shaped?

To find out, look at your forehead in relation to your face. If you have a very wide forehead, but have a smaller, more delicate and pointed, chin, then you have a heart-shaped face. For this face shape you want to create balance - more volume near the bottom of your hair. Also, heart-shaped faces look fabulous with side-swept bangs. I think hairstlyle2, with bangs, would look the best for heart-shapes out of these.

Or: is your forehead about the same width as your strong jawline? That would mean you have a sqare shaped face. Dont worry! A lot of celebs have this shape and it is not unnattractive. For example, Jennifer Garner and Katie Holmes all have this shape. Think of the way they wear their hair. Katie wears soft waves most of the time, and Jennifer goes daring occasionally with stick-straight and shiny hair that really accents her cheekbones. For this shape I would recommend soft layers hitting below the chin, to soften up the somewhat hard jawline.

Oval shapes have it easy - they cam wear virtually any hairstyle, because their face is in perfect symmetry, Measure your face. the length should be about 1 1/2 times the width, and the forehead is a medium size, along with the chin. You have a full chin and a full forehead, and you rly have to avoid short hair, which will make you look quite overweight (not offensive, just from experience I kno - my friend has a round face shape, and on impulse, she went and got a bob, and it added about 15 pounds to her - not a good idea). Round face shapes look great with straight hairstyles, and with soft waves that start waving around the cheekbone area. If you have a round face, try hairstyle one. Its cute and straight, so it draws attention away from the roundness of your face.

What I did when I cut my hair was a drastic. I got my hair tapered which is basically cutting it off in the back and had my hair cut in an angle which was layered. Having it longer in the front and shorter toward the back. That may not be for you though.

I had really long hair and accidentally cut it off way short and I was miserable until now it has finally started to get long again. I would not advise such a drastic change without at least trying on a wig or two to see how it really looks on me ...it might look great on the model but may not be the look for you.

Dying it black is pretty harsh too but at least that is something u can kind of undo if it goes all bad!

I had short red spikey hair for 3 years and swore I'd never go back to long hair. It was fun, funky, sassy, but not over the top. Short in the back and a little bit of a longer bang, dyed bright red. I would get a least 3 compliments a week on my hair and how cool it was. It only took 10 minutes from start to finish to do and I never had a bad hair day. Now I have long brown hair and its not nearly as fun. But unfortunately my hubby loves it long so thats how it is for now. So I say GO FOR IT!!!!!! It will always grow back.

Yeah, I think it could work on someone with a short face. I think pixies look best on really petite people, like Sienna Miller, etc. I don't know, I kind of wanted to get a pixie too but I feel like I'd have to be really tiny to pull it off. i would keep it long, and add more layers. make sure you get a good styling product though. shorter layers could make it go out of control if you dont use the right stuff. because of the texture of your hair, your limited to what kind of styles you can choose from. keeping it long will help keep it tamed, but shorter layers will give it something different, give it a style, and frame your face.

But i'll just explain all of them.

1) 2 ways : Choppy layered hair and razorbladed sidebangs with extensions. OR a long SLICE up to the ears. with razorbladed sidebangs.

2) Unprofessional cut. Don't get it. BUT uneven layered hair %26amp; parted bangs...let your friend cut it or something...

3) This is the same person as number 1...So same cut.

Dfiferent view.

4) Same as number one but she thinned it out or has thin hair.

%26amp; she used more products to stick it up.

5) Layers from the bottom to the ears. %26amp; razorbladed sidebangs. This would be my pick.

It's easy to style %26amp; it's prettier than those other ones. :)

I really like number 2. It has very short layers and side bangs. Depending on the thickness of your hair you could have it thinned for this style. If you do get it cut this way, to style you just need to straighten it. Take the picture with you to the salon and they will be able to duplicate it.

What I would have you do,is go into a book store,and pick out some fashion magazines,hair magazines and movie magazines and look for your face shape and if possible, your hair color as well. It depends on the length of your hair, but basically you are best to lift small sections and cut at 45 degree angles, nothing sharper than that. Remember to keep the teeth side up and the straight side down towards your scalp and that way you should avoid scissor marks.

If your hair is long enough to put in a band, then section it so that it is pulled straight and snip the ends with the scissors.

If your hair is short, run the scissors through your hair in lines about 3mm apart.

I'm trying to grow it out so I don't want to cut it ANY shorter at all. (i swim and straighten it everyday so it grows pretty slowly).

if you go to a good salon the stylist can give you great advice on how to cut and style your hair based on face shape... of course your face shape is based on your weight as well.

my stylist evaluated this my first visit with her. she measured my face length wise, seeing the distance between my forehead to eyes, eyes to mouth and mouth were chin were equal... as mine are i can go from shoulders to my chin without making my face look long like a horse. secondly my stylist looks at my face to see if one eye is slightly higher or lower than the other as well as if my mouth is high or lower on one side... she said most everyone has one side that is slightly lower. from this she decides which side of my head to part my hair on. the part goes on the opposite side as the lower side of the face in order to bring that side of the face up and more even.

when ive gone to other stylists theyve all known these tools to best fit a haircut to my face, i think most just arent vocal about knowing this information. good luck at finding a new style!! i went for a cut similar to the new katie holmes cut and have had tons of compliments :)

Why do you have to cut your hair.. Not sure IF I understand the signifigance here??? Is it going to harm the baby OR while you are in labor get caught in something.
