I just go my medium length naturally curly/wavy hair cut to above my shoulders plus got bangs, she also I guess did what you would call razor my hair. I hate it. I bought a straightner today and tried that it did look a little better but looks so drying and just blah. I thought about getting like a spiral perm put in it but I have the natural curl/wave it just isn't there now I guess because of the way it was cut. I have never had a perm or had to use a curling iron or anything. I don't know what to do to make it look a little better until it grows out a little. Any suggestions please.
Got naturally curly/wavy hair cut now looks straight and I hate it, any suggestions?
i get compliments on my hair all the time with the straightener i use. you should never buy a cheap straightener from CVS, target, or places like that(even though i dno where u got yours, if it doesnt work well the first time, its not quality). go to a hair salon close buy and buy a straightener there. find one with "ceramic plates". it doesnt dry out your hair or damage it. i naturally have frizzy, wavy hair that just looks like a mess. i dno wut i would do without my straightener!

Use products geared towards curly/frizzy hair, that made a big difference towards my hair. Seriously striaght by Herbal Essence does help my hair be less wavy but I like my waves.
I use none of your frizzness by Herbal essence, it great plus use a curl control mouse, Pantene has a great one.
Leave in conditioners are awesome as well, I use Aussie Formula geared toward my hair.
It's all trial and error though, you need to find the products that work with your hair to do what you want it to do.

I have had the same problem many times
1. buy a diffuser (make sure it's the kind with teeth)
2. use a curling spray... TIGI Bed Head- its a yellow curling spray, it can be close to $13 for the bottle, and you use it up very fast, but it is AMAZZINNG... i recommend buying it at least once to help train your hair... then switch to cheaper products, such as
l'oreal pumping curls (spray gel)
spray a TON of the curling spray into your wet hair, then flip your head over and scrunch and fluff with the diffuser. once your hair is dry hair spray it like mad... you'll look like someone from the 80's that just got electricuted but i promise your curls will calm down.....
Then... buy a ton of bobby pins and clips and clip up your curls...
i cant tell you how many times i thought my head was out of control with messy wavy/curly hair... i've gotten soo many compliments on it, especially guys that LOVVE the cury crazy hair!!!
good luck!! i bet your cut will grow on you wicked fast, it just takes time to get used to!

Unfortunately, a lot of hair stylists don't know how to cut curly hair. Try washing it and using a little styling gel rubbed on your hands, then work it through your hair and scrunch it up to bring out the curl. The heat from the straightener will dry out your hair, which will damage it and kill the curl, so try to avoid that if possible. Get a good conditioner to make sure your hair is as healthy as possible.

If you ever get up the nerve you could try flipping it using a curling iron, or you could do up a cute mohawk kind of thing. There's many ways someone can do that: braided up the sides, hairpins, or you could check out some websites for people with your hair length...Whatever you do you should remember to use the right hair products if you try those styles, and cheer up. Keep in mind that your hair will be back. You don't have to be upset.
